Shawn Kiehne’s story doesn’t start in an office—it begins on a ranch, in the quiet grit of early mornings and the rhythm of a family that believed in showing up, working hard, and doing right by others. His great-great-grandfather set the tone generations ago, leaving the family ranch in Texas and everything familiar to follow love to New Mexico. Disowned by his family, he carved out a life from scratch, building a cattle ranch and planting the roots of a legacy built on conviction, risk, and resilience.
That spirit was passed down like a birthright. Shawn’s father made sure the lessons stuck—buying him milk cows and chickens as a boy, reminding him that responsibility starts early and never lets up. True to the family tradition, Shawn spent years in real estate, but his creative heart led him down a different path: music. Fluent in Spanish and fueled by connection, he found success in the Latin music world—touring, signing record deals, and living out a dream few dare to chase.
But life shifted. Marriage. Fatherhood. A deeper calling. Shawn realized his real legacy wouldn’t be written in applause but in the lives he could impact through steady guidance and honest work. So he stepped into financial services—not for the glamor, but for the people. For the families like his own, who just want to make wise decisions, live with dignity, and leave something meaningful behind.
Today, Kiehne Wealth & Retirement is a family business in every sense. Shawn’s wife, Ada, brings vision and leadership through her work in marketing and life coaching. His son, Tyler, once chasing a future in football, now carries forward the legacy of service with the same heart for people and purpose. Together, they help New Mexico’s retirees and pre-retirees protect what they’ve built and plan for what’s next—with the same values that got them here: hard work, bold choices, and a deep belief that doing the right thing always matters.
